Collings 003 - 14 Fret, featuring a solid old growth Sitka Spruce top, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a 1 11/16" nut width and a 24 7/8" scale length. Complete with deluxe TKL case.
Decades of natural aging combined with the high quality of these difficult-to-obtain old growth tops have resulted in soundboards that possess a high stiffness-to-weight ratio which provides exceptional warmth, headroom, and resonance. There are also visual features that set them apart from new Sitka Spruce due to the natural aging process: the colour of the wood has a bit of patina, and there are variances found in the growth rings that developed over time as well. The result are soundboards with a bit more "character" than new Sitka tops.
