Atkin Hawaiian Master Aged featuring a solid Baked Sitka Spruce top, solid Mahogany back and sides, a 1 3/4" nut width and a 24 7/8" scale length. This guitar has a fantastic looking aged finish and an early 30's Gibson style small sunburst. This guitar has the benefit of a bound fingerboard, not found as standard on this model.
Known as the “Wizard of the Strings”, Roy Smeck could play just about any instrument that he laid his hands on – but when it came to guitars, he loved slope shoulder instruments, with a wide nut and 12 frets to the body.
The big, lightly-braced body with a shorter scale length delivers incredible tone: sweetness with power.
All Atkin acoustic guitars have an “Aged Finish”. Eight coats of Nitro Lacquer with a yellow tint are applied to give a thin gloss finish, the guitar is then frozen to achieve the vintage look, which includes lacquer cracks and sinking, plus odd blemishes that you would expect from an old instrument. The tuners, bridge pins and saddle are also cosmetically aged to further enhance the appearance.
