Inspired by the Bosstone circuit, the Hephaestus started life as an homage to that classic "Spirit in the Sky" fuzz box. Combining a NPN and PNP transistor pair give you some familiar gain sounds but it wasn't enough. Enter the Warning knob.
The Warning knob is a voltage adjustment that shifts parameters of the circuit in such a way that when you turn the knob to 1 o'clock you unleash a wild, all analog, sub octave effect. All while retaining that classic fuzz clean up we all want from these sort of pedals.
The solitary Warning knob on the face of the Hephaestus adjusts the voltage of the circuit. When turned completely clockwise (5 o'clock) you get a straight forward fuzz sound, as you dial the knob back you begin to unlock the sub octave and other harmonics. The balance of these sounds and interaction with you guitar changes depending on where you set the knob so experiment and find where the knob works best for you.
Internally they is a small volume trimmer, we find once you set this to your preferred placement you'll not need to adjust it that often.
